Sprint has just announced it has started to take pre-orders for LG's curved the smartphone, the G Flex, from today. The handset will be available for purchase online beginning January 31 and will arrive at Sprint brick and mortar stores on February 7.

Potential customers should know Sprint's LG G Flex can be had for as low as $300 (€220) with a new 2-year agreement. It is also worth mentioning those who pre-order the smartphone will also receive a free Quickwindow Folio Cse ($60/€45 value).

Furthermore, customers who gran the LG G Flex via a Sprint Store on or after February 7 will also have the option of the Sprint Easy Pay for Phones program.

The latter allows customers to pay for the phone in 24 monthly payments. With Sprint Easy Pay, eligible customers can purchase G Flex with a down payment of $150 (€110) and 23 easy payments of $20.84 (€15.31) and a final payment of $20.68 (€15.19).

According to the carrier, LG G Flex will take advantage of its Sprint Spark enhanced LTE technology that supports the latest generation of online gaming, cloud services, virtual reality and other heavy bandwidth apps.

Unfortunately, LG G Flex will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is a bit old for February. Even if the South Korean company promises to offer a KitKat upgrade, there's no telling when it will be available.

Aside from the 6-inch curved P-OLED (Real RGB) capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, LG G Flex is equipped with a 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory.

Keep in mind the G Flex does not offer microSD card slot for memory expansion. There's also a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p@60fps) video recording, along with a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera.

“Continuing to raise the bar in innovation, we are thrilled to once again team up with LG to bring a top-of-the-line device to our customers. LG G Flex combines everything in a single device and provides Sprint customers curved ergonomic comfort and a cinematic viewing experience that will make movie buffs rejoice.

With the multitude of Android apps available for download, LG G Flex with Sprint Spark, combined with Sprint’s new Sprint Framily Plan, make an ideal pair for today’s multimedia, multitasking lifestyles,” said David Owens, vice president of product, Sprint.
