Wireless carrier Sprint is among those lucky operators which should bring Samsung's flagship Galaxy S to the market in the US. Unlike the rest of the US wireless services providers, which would launch on their airwaves the usual 3G-enabled models, Sprint is set to release a new 4G-capable device to its customers. Dubbed Sprint Epic 4G, the upcoming mobile phone would put together WiMAX connectivity and Google's Android operating system, and can be admired in the video commercial embedded below.

This is not the first Android-based handset Sprint launches with 4G connectivity options on board. However, it is the first such device to pack a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and also the first to be powered by a Samsung 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird Application Processor. The premier 4G mobile phone at Sprint, the HTC EVO 4G, comes only with a touchscreen display as input method, while being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, clocked in at 1GHz.

The powerful processor enables a nice range of features to be enjoyed on the device, including:
- Qik video application for video chat service and live video sharing
- Samsung's exclusive AllShare service to wirelessly share stored music, pictures and HD video to other DLNA certified home electronics, including HDTVs, monitors, digital cameras, printers and more.
- Samsung Social Hub integrates all of the user's social networking services, messages, personal and business email, calendars and contacts, and can display calendar information from portal calendars and social networking services together in one view with two-way synchronization

- Sprint applications including Sprint Football Live, Sprint Navigation Sprint TV, and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile

The specifications list of Sprint Epic 4G includes a 4-inch Super AMOLED capacitive display, a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, Power LED flash and HD video (720p) recording capabilities, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP Stereo and EDR, built-in WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), six-axis motion sensor, GPS, 512 MB of RAM, 1 GB of ROM, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space (a 16GB card included in the package). With support for 3G and 4G networks, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, media player and more, the handset can prove a great option for both business and entertainment purposes.
