Samsung Epic 4G owner have been plagued by a critical bug that made their smartphones lose radio signal when in areas with bad network coverage.

The only solution to this bug was to simply reboot the phone, otherwise the phone would not re-enable the signal reception.

Fortunately, Sprint has finally come up with a minor software update that should fix this issue and allow Samsung Epic 4G owners to use their phones in bad coverage areas as well.

In addition, the update also fixes an issue where the 4G Sprint Hotspot constantly disconnects while in a phone call.

The update is pushed OTA (over the air), so Epic 4G owners should receive a notification on their devices informing them about the software fix. No word yet if the update really fixes the bugs in question.
