The carrier hopes that its customer base will grow fueled by Apple's device

Sprint has just added the new Apple iPhone 4S to its offering, but it seems that the wireless carrier is actually happy with the device.

While most wireless carriers out there would see the iPhone as a data-hungry smartphone, Sprint considers the new device as being more efficient than some of the Android phones it already has in its offering.

Sprint CEO Dan Hesse has just stated that the Apple iPhone uses only about half of the network resources that its Android devices that also pack 4G connectivity use.

Moreover, he is confident that Sprint's network will be less strained with more iPhone users on it, and that the carrier actually hopes that it will benefit from an urge in customers with the launch of the new device.

“iPhone users are expected to use significantly less 3G than the typical user of a dual-mode 3G, 4G device,” Hesse reportedly stated.

“Even adjusting for more total new customers being added to the network, we believe they will put less load on our 3G network than they would have if we did not carry the iPhone.”

However, some of the wireless carrier's customers already complained that the iPhone is affecting their experience on the Sprint network, and suggested that the operator should make a move in the area.

The company plans on optimizing its network so that no such issues will emerge as the number of users connecting to its airwaves will increase.

The one thing that is certain at the moment, however, is the fact that iPhone users will be able to maintain their unlimited plans that Sprint put in place for them right from day one.

New customers choosing the Apple iPhone will also take advantage of such offerings, it seems.

Sprint has been working on getting the Apple iPhone for some time now, and it seems that the wireless carrier is set to do all in it power to maintain it there.
