Wireless carrier Sprint has just announced plans to add to its offering a new smartphone from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion, namely the BlackBerry Curve 9350 smartphone, which was unveiled to the world earlier today.

The handset is expected to arrive on shelves at Sprint starting with Friday, September 9th, and should include a wide range of appealing features, starting with the latest mobile operating system from RIM, namely the BlackBerry 7 OS. The new device comes with a slim design and with easy-to-use capabilities, and will feature a price tag of $79.99 when made available for purchase at Sprint after a $50 mail-in rebate via reward card.

Those who would like to take advantage of the offering will have to commit to a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.

The smartphone will be made available for purchase via all Sprint channels, namely Sprint Stores, Business Sales, Telesales and web sales, the wireless carrier announced.

Moreover, the carrier announced that it would offer the new handset to its Sprint Business customers for $49.99 (excluding taxes) on a business account with the signing one- or two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate via reward card.

“It is exciting to see the BlackBerry Curve line continue to evolve, building upon past success,” said David Owens, vice president – Product Development, Sprint.

“This latest iteration offers the recognizable form factor our customers have come to enjoy, while adding powerful new features and innovative apps of BlackBerry 7 to deliver the smoothest and fastest BlackBerry Curve experience to date.”

BlackBerry Curve 9350 comes with a 5MP camera with HD video recording capabilities, a fast application processor complemented by 512MB of RAM, microSD card with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, and Near Field Communications (NFC) support.

It also includes Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR support, DataViz Docs To Go Premium suite, as well as with access to the BlackBerry App World.
