Today, wireless carrier Sprint announced a new approach to the prepaid wireless marketplace. According to the company, Virgin Mobile USA is set to unveil three new “Beyond Talk” plans on May 12, offering unlimited messaging, email, data and web to users. However, it seems that this is only one prepaid brand Sprint will bet on, as its portfolio will be driven by four brands, including Virgin Mobile USA, Boost Mobile, Assurance Wireless and a new Pay By the Minute brand.

Sprint has been deploying new offerings in the prepaid area ever since the acquisition of Virgin Mobile USA, Inc., and announced plans to roll-out “an innovative new value proposition that focuses on serving customers who use text and data services to power constant connection with their social networks.” Unlimited messaging, email, data and web are set to come to Virgin Mobile's users on May 12, all available with plans starting at only $25 a month.

The three new “Beyond Talk” plans the carrier will unveil one week from now include: - The revolutionary $25 plan is the industry’s lowest price point for unlimited messaging, email, data and web with 300 minutes of voice per month, ideal for high-end device users seeking an unbeatable price to enable the text and data services they need. - The $40 plan includes unlimited messaging, email, data and web with 1,200 minutes of voice per month — the perfect value for those seeking an affordable plan with everything they need. - The $60 plan includes unlimited messaging, email, data and web with unlimited voice to offer great value for high-end smartphone users expecting an unlimited plan to cost much more.

The offering adds to Virgin Mobile's new handset lineup, which would sport the Blackberry Curve 8530 smartphone, available for $299.99 starting with the end of May, or the LG Rumor Touch, the carrier's first full touch device, priced at $149.99. Its customers can also choose the LG Rumor 2 QWERTY phone, available for $89.99, as well as the Kyocera Loft QWERTY device, which features a price tag of $69.99 with the carrier.

“Our new offers target a continuing evolution in wireless consumer behavior – increased use of text and data services as a form of wireless communication over talk,” explained Dan Schulman, president of Sprint’s prepaid group. “These Beyond Talk plans offer the most accessible solution for customers seeking that data-driven lifestyle — unlimited text and data on their terms without a contract, at prices they will love, without requiring them to buy extra minutes they don’t need.”
