Unveiled in early June, Motorola PHOTON 4G Android-based smartphone has just been confirmed by Sprint for July 31.

Sprint also revealed the phone's price, as the PHOTON 4G will be available for purchase for $199.99 (excluding taxes) with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year agreements.

However, Sprint Premier Customers will be allowed to purchase Motorola PHOTON 4G three days ahead of the official launch, while supplies last.

The offer is available only online and refers exclusively to Premier customers, who will be notified of the details via email on July 28.

Furthermore, Premier customers can also log on to their account at the carrier's website on July 28 and click “show me my rewards” and then “Sprint Premier Community” for additional details.

The carrier stated that the phone would be bundled with its Sprint ID service, which adds to the impressive list of features of the 4G smartphone.

Motorola PHOTON 4G is Sprint’s first international 4G smartphone and supports both CDMA and GSM network standards.

Sprint is thrilled to build on the strength of our relationship with Motorola by bringing customers Motorola’s first Sprint 4G device with a dual-core processor,” said Fared Adib, vice president of Product Development, Sprint.

The phone comes with a large 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

Equipped with a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, clocked at 1GHz, Motorola PHOTON 4G runs Google's Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) platform.

Motorola PHOTON 4G brings our customers the latest in Android technology combined with enterprise-quality security for business users and international GSM capabilities for those who travel abroad. It is spectacular to bring yet another Sprint 4G device to our customers,” added Adib.

The phone also packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB RAM, 2GB ROM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as a superior 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash and HD (720p) video recording capabilities.
