14 DAY TRIAL // Wireless carrier Sprint announced on Tuesday that it would be the only service provider to deliver live NFL Network game telecasts, through its exclusive NFL Mobile Live application, as well as on Sprint TV, starting with November 12, as soon as the first of the eight-game Thursday Night Football schedule is aired by NFL Network. According to the carrier, all of its subscribers that have a data plan can enjoy Mobile Live and Sprint TV at no cost.
“Sprint and the NFL continue to make it easy for fans to follow their favorite players and teams with NFL Mobile Live,” said Steve Gaffney, Sprint’s vice president, corporate marketing. “With the Now Network, Sprint delivers live game information, which now includes the live game telecasts of all of the NFL Network games. What makes NFL Mobile Live so compelling is our ability to deliver live information for fans to access as they live their lives, on their terms.”
The first of the televised games will feature the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Chicago Bears on NFL Network. Sprint's subscribers will be able to enjoy NFL Network’s Thursday night telecasts, that include games on Thanksgiving Day (November 26), as well as special NFL Network games on Saturday, December 19, and Christmas Day (Friday, December 25).
The NFL Network games, that Sprint subscribers will enjoy, include: - Nov. 12, Chicago Bears at San Francisco 49ers - Nov. 19, Miami Dolphins at Carolina Panthers - Nov. 26, New York Giants at Denver Broncos - Dec. 3, New York Jets at Buffalo Bills - Dec. 10, Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns - Dec. 17, Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars - Dec. 19, Dallas Cowboys at New Orleans Saints - Dec. 25, San Diego Chargers at Tennessee Titans
NFL Mobile Live is one of the most popular applications from Sprint, as it has seen more than 1 million users faster than any other application from the company. The app has been launched during the 2008 season, and its usage has tripled since then, the carrier added. NFL Mobile Live is the second most popular app from Sprint, following Sprint TV. According to the carrier, it can be downloaded through texting NFL to 7777.
“This really is remarkable technology,” said former NFL star and current TV analyst Cris Collinsworth. “With NFL Mobile Live from Sprint it’s like carrying a little television set around with you. It has become an NFL tool for me and I use it all the time to follow the league. I watch the game highlights, I get scoring updates live and I will watch the games. With my travel schedule there is no better resource for NFL information.”
Almost all Sprint handsets come with support for NFL Mobile Live, and the service can be enjoyed at no additional cost, on Sprint Everything plans with data that start at $69.99. According to Sprint, the Simply Everything, that sports unlimited nationwide voice, messaging, and extensive data services for only $99.99 per month, also includes the application. Other Sprint users can enjoy NFL Mobile Live through a Data Pack that starts at $15 per month.
