Sprint's Treo Pro handset, which has been recently delayed for a launch in
late February, has posed for the camera for the guys at WMExperts, and we could say that it is a rather good-looking device. The handset looks pretty much the same as the GSM version, yet there are a few changes that account for the porting to the CDMA model.
One of the most important new features of the Sprint Treo Pro CDMA flavor is the introduction of Mobile Internet Explorer 6. Interestingly enough, the handset is reported to come ready to work as soon as you get it out of the box – actually, it is on once you get it. Considering that it is already activated at the store, one could literally make a call the minute the phone is in their hands.
The device includes a 528mhz processor that delivers faster response times than the 333mhz Treo 800w, which it resembles, yet it looks a little prettier. The screen provides clear image, and the speakers deliver a sharp and loud sound, which could make it the loudest Windows Mobile phone on the market.
The handset will also come with a 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR radio, 3.5mm headphone jack, microUSB connector, onboard GPS, as well as Wi-Fi. Treo Pro comes with 43mb of free RAM (program memory) along with 300+mb of storage memory, complemented by a microSD expansion slot. It will also provide support for the Google Maps "My Location" feature, which is also known as A-FLT (Advanced Forward Link Trilateration) or tower triangulation.
Sprint's Treo Pro comes with a 1500mah battery that should be able to provide around 5 hours of talk time, which is enough for a thin handset as this one. The phone also brings a nice range of improvements compared to the 800w, and should see more traction from users, if only Spring launched it already. In the meantime, see more pictures of the handset
