Wireless carrier Sprint is expected to soon come to the market with two new, attractive handsets for its customers. One of them, the Android-based HTC Hero, should land on October 11, while the other one, Samsung Instinct HD, is expected to be launched as soon as September 27, only one week from now. The former is already official, and the latter is expected to be announced very soon, yet both of them made an appearance at Best Buy.

The HTC Hero is the first mobile phone the wireless carrier will deliver to the market running under the Android operating system. Already announced to land on the operator's airwaves on October 11, the device can now be seen at Best Buy featuring a price tag of $599.99 without a contract, with the Coming-Soon tag all over it. For what it's worth, we should also mention that Sprint is expected to sell the handset for $179.99 on a contract, with a mail-in rebate, while Best Buy already announced that it would have it without the MIR.

In addition to the Hero, Best Buy should soon introduce another handset that will come to Sprint's offering, namely the Instinct HD. The handset has been rumored for quite some time to be getting ready for a market launch, with the latest rumors pointing towards September 27 as the fortunate day, and now a series of silicone skins for it made it into Best Buy's inventories.

As Engadget notes, it happens most frequently for the accessories for a mobile phone to become available for purchase either before the handset's release or after it, though they still occur around the same date. Basically, this means that the Samsung Instinct HD might not be too far from getting launched on the market, and that the September 27 rumors could prove true shortly.

In related news, we learn that Best Buy's best selling mobile phone is none other than the highly popular Palm Pre. According to an article on PreCentral, this might be the result of the recent price cut Sprint operated for the device, though other reasons might be there as well. Even so, we should mention that the Pre for Bell Network is listed at Best Buy for $150 Canadian, which is lower than the price the handset sports on the carrier's offering.
