Sculptured design elements include animals, mushrooms, caves

Unknown to many, Vietnam is presently home to one very unconventional building.

The Hằng Nga guesthouse is locally known as the “Crazy House,” and – should we be completely honest – it really isn't that big of a surprise that people decided to call it by this name.

This Crazy House was made to resemble a giant, weird-looking tree (long live the natural world and its standing as a source of inspiration for artists worldwide!), and some of the sculptures incorporated as elements of design feature animals, mushrooms and even spider webs.

Some people might look at this house and argue that it reminds them of Salvador Dalí's works, yet those who say there is a bit of a fairy tale in it would be equally right.

The house opened back in 1990, and several magazines still list it as one of the most bizarre pieces of architecture in the world.
