Dust mites feed on human skin cells, are forever around

Although people are unable to spot them with the naked eye, dust mites are forever present in and around one's household, regardless of how much of a cleaning-frantic your average person might be.

These tiny creatures usually feed on flakes of shed human skin, which is why they more often than not find a comfortable home beneath one's sheets.

Specialists warn that the presence of these dust mites in one's home can be linked to health conditions such as asthma and allergenic symptoms.

The good news is that, because they only measure 0.4 mm (0.016 in) in length and 0.25 mm (0.010 in) in width, these common household guests go unnoticed, unless somebody decides to go looking for them with a microscope.

Therefore, once the initial shock from this footage subsides, one will be able to once again lie down in one's bed and go to sleep.
