Every greenhead loves a good recycling story, so the news that there are some people out there who are busy turning old skateboards into electric guitars is bound to make some individuals extremely happy.

Inhabitat explains that Ezequiel Galasso and Gianfranco de Gennaro Gilmour from Argentina are not in the least interested in making their guitars look totally different from the skateboards they used to be.

Quite the contrary, they try to preserve several design elements that hint at the electric guitar's origin. Furthermore, they refer to these instruments as Skate Guitars.

“Our intention is to achieve a simple and functional instrument, using the quality of the laminated maple, a 24” 3⁄4 scale and the accessories selected according to the particular style of each skateboard. Our instruments are completely handmade, one by one, by Ezequiel Galasso in our workshop located in Buenos Aires, Argentina,” the two explain.
