PETA's latest campaign pushes for animal rights in a rather innovative manner: it invites people to play a game and help free pokemons from the abuses they supposedly suffer at the hands of their trainers.

“Games such as Pokémon send kids the wrong message that exploiting and abusing those who are defenseless is acceptable when it's not,” explains the organization.

Furthermore, “But with Pokémon Black and Blue, children can experience the great feeling that comes from saving others from harm.”

Truth be told, some people might be a tad pessimistic with respect to this game's ability to act on human psychology and convince more people to do the right thing and save animals, yet the fact remains that the idea is noteworthy to say the least, and one should check it out even if just for the sake of entertainment.

The game is made available for you to play and enjoy here.
