The charger is basically an eco-friendly portable socket

From where I stand, this portable socket has got to be one of the coolest green-oriented gadgets to come our way. Not just because it appears to be quite efficient, but also because it looks as if one might actually have fun using it.

The idea is fairly simple: one attaches this leech-like solar charger to a window, waits for it to harvest sun energy and convert it into electricity, and then uses that electricity to fire up gadgets and the like.

Grist says that, apart from its generating electricity, the portable socket can also store it. More precisely, 5-8 hours of charging translate into about 10 hours of use.

“The Window Socket offers a neat way to harness solar energy and use it as a plug socket. Simple in design, the plug just attaches to any window and does its job intuitively,” designers Kyuho Song & Boa Oh explain.
