Spotlight: Innovative Shower Unit Doubles as a Washing Machine

When it comes to leading an environmentally-friendly lifestyle, most people know that making sure no water gets wasted while carrying on with one's daily routine need be at the top of the list.

Thanks to four Turkish students, those wishing to cut their water consumption down to a minimum could soon shower and wash their clothes at the same time.

Thus, these students' very innovative shower cabin, known as Washit, collects the bath water that hits the floor, filters it and feeds it into a storage unit.

This stored water can be used either to do the laundry, or to take another shower later on.

As those behind this shower cabin that doubles as a washing machine explain, the goal is to allow people to enjoy long, relaxing showers while keeping a close eye on our planet's water resources.
