Almost everybody enjoys playing online games, more so if these happen to be free. A green-oriented such game now aims at teaching youth almost all there is to know about protecting endangered species and promoting sustainable development.

“Team WILD, an elite squadron of science superheroes, needs your help! Your mission: protect and conserve the planet’s species and habitats from destruction,” reads the official description for this online game.

Mongabay informs us that the game was made available to the public by Wildscreen, a charity whose working agenda mainly revolves around teaching people how to better look after the environment.

“We are always exploring new and innovative ways of reaching wider audiences, and Team WILD does just that—highlighting some of the lesser-known science careers and inspiring the next generation of science superheroes and environmental stewards.”

“The game also celebrates the real conservation heroes—the scientists, researchers and conservationists working on the ground to protect the world’s species and habitats,” said Richard Edwards, the current chief executive of Wildscreen.
