14 DAY TRIAL // A new flavor of the Spotify application for Android devices is now available for download for all smartphones running under the 2.1 flavor of the OS or newer.
A few weeks ago, Spotify announced plans for pushing out a new, redesigned application, and it even made it available for download in a preview flavor.
Today, the software is available for download through Google’s official application store, with a host of new features and enhancements.
The new flavor of the application was designed with full support for the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Spotify modified the app from top to bottom, and it also included new, slide-out navigation capabilities inside it.
Moreover, the application was meant to offer increased social features to all users, including the possibility to check friends’ profile pages and playlists while on the go.
Other enhancements packed in this application release range from the availability of artist imagery in high resolution to related artist view, which has been made available for the first time on mobile devices.
The application also offers ‘Extreme’ sound quality setting for 320kbps listening, and it can deliver much faster performance than before.
All these were announced when the preview version of the application was made available for download. Since then, a new set of enhancements was included in the software.
Thus, users will benefit from features such as Play queue, Last.fm scrobbling, and Crossfade/gapless playback settings. The new Spotify for Android also arrives with folder support.
The application is also accompanied by a widget, which enables users to easily control the Spotify app straight from the handset’s home screen.
