Spotify is debuting a new "Radio" app which will enable users to sit back and listen to music they like without having to constantly fiddle with playlists or pick what they want to hear.

This is important because Spotify hasn't been so great on the 'discovery' part so far and that's been one of the biggest user complaint.

With the new official app, Spotify hopes users will discover great new music besides the one they're already listening to and that they'll spend more time with the service.

Spotify Radio is built into the Spotify app, it's not a stand-alone service, and it comes with unlimited radio stations and unlimited skips.

"Get ready for an amazing radio experience. Unlimited stations, unlimited skips – that’s the new Spotify Radio," Spotify announced.

"You can be the DJ and skip between stations and tracks, or choose a station and just go with the flow. If you like what you hear, you can save the song to a playlist or play it again on demand," it explained.

The Radio app will be part of the Spotify apps section that was introduced recently, mostly for third-party applications that live inside the desktop client.

It's being rolled out to all users in the next few days, but you can get it now via a "preview" version of Spotify.

Spotify boasts that the new algorithms powering Radio will be great at predicting stuff that you'll like but also things that fit within the "radio station" that you're listening too and your mood.

But if it doesn't do such a great job, you can always skip to the next song, there's no limit to how many songs you can skip. That's stab at Pandora, which only enables you to skip a few tracks per hour.
