Much has been said, written and especially speculated about its launch on American soil, and it seems that finally it will all become reality: Spotify has recently updated its landing page and encourages US citizens to sign up for an invite.

This can mean only one thing, that entering the United States market is very close and that all the deals have been closed.

“The award-winning music service that’s taken Europe by storm will soon be landing on US shores. Millions of tracks ready to play instantly, on your computer and your phone.”

This is the message that is currently displayed on Spotify's website, though no details regarding the exact date is revealed.

There had been rumors that July 2011 would be the month when the Swedish service would become available to Americans, but this was never officially confirmed by a company representative.

Needless to say, the aforementioned text is all the confirmation one would require to make sure that all the launch is approaching fast.

Moreover, opening email invitations will help Spotify have a (hopefully) solid userbase once it gets actually accessible.

While most users who will enter their email address in the tiny box on the website will do so out of sheer curiosity, there are also a lot of them who want to test the capabilities of Spotify.

This music streaming service will have to prove itself worthy against popular platforms like Pandora, Napster, Rdio and the such.

The European-based company maintaining Spotify has gradually realized that the old continent is not the only location that should enjoy the benefits of music streaming.

They have been trying since 2009 to enter the American market, but they could not sign all the record labels they needed in order to make everything legal.

It all seems to be a thing of the past now that they have updated their website and everyone will be watching closely for their next move.
