A new application is now available for download for handsets running under Palm’s webOS mobile operating system, namely Spotify Mobile. Starting today, users of Palm smartphones, including Palm Pre and Palm Pixi, would be able to download and install the new software solution on their devices, Spotify announced officially via its blog.

“We’re always looking for new ways to make Spotify available to as many music fans as possible, so today we’re really excited to announce that Spotify Mobile is launching on Palm’s smartphones,” the company said.

Palm Pre and Palm Pixi owners should enjoy a wide range of features on their devices with the new application, the company continued.

Among some of the most important capabilities of the application, we can count:

- Search, browse & play millions of tracks - Offline playlists – listen to music with no mobile connection - Wirelessly sync your local files to your phone - View your friends’ top lists and see what playlists they’ve created - Send & receive music from friends via the inbox - Share music via Facebook, email and messaging - Create, sync and edit playlists - LastFM scrobbling

The owners of Palm Pre and Palm Pixi devices interested in the new application should head over to the Palm App Catalog to give it a try.

“If you’re using either a Palm Pre or Pixi phone running webOS then you can download Spotify from the webOS app store now, giving you all the great features you’ve come to expect from our mobile apps,” Spotify stated.

One other thing that should be added here is that Palm users would have to purchase a premium subscription to enjoy the solution, just as it happens with all users of a Spotify Mobile app.

With Spotify, users would enter a world of music straight from their mobile phones, being able to get their existing Spotify playlists with them while on the go.

The application is available only in English. Additional info on it can be found on Palm's website here, or on Spotify.
