EA Sports is drumming up a lot of hype for its football games this year and with all the attention lavished on Madden NFL 10, with its own graphics engine and improved play simulation, it's rather easy to forget that players can first get their hands on NCAA Football 10, the college level sports simulation set to be delivered before the arrival of the main title.

The game should come on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3, the PS2 and the PlayStation Portable from Sony on July 14 and one of the biggest features is set to be the all new Road to Glory play mode.

Electronic Arts has just announced that in order to lend a new degree of reality to the gameplay, well-known sports reporter Erin Andrews, who has been with ESPN since 2004, has been selected to host the new mode. She joins Kirk Herbstreit as a host and will have the task to chronicle all the moves that the gamer makes as a college football player.

In Road to Glory, the gamer is tasked with choosing a school they like and a playing position in the field. Regular broadcasts hosted by Erin Andrews will showcase, using in-game footage, the greatest moments of every game while a new dorm room will display photos and trophies tied with the player’s career. There are also leaderboards allowing for extended comparisons that can be filtered to take into account only particular teams or only one conference.

Erin Andrews is also joining Kirk Herbstreit, Brad Nessler and Lee Corso as a sideline reporter in NCAA Football 10, aiming to deliver pertinent commentary on the games while not becoming too repetitive for the dedicated players.
