Spore, EA and Maxis’ God game, has received a fourth patch on both Mac and PC. The update delivers fixes and improvements reported and suggested by players worldwide. Besides gameplay tuning, the option for players to reach all Grox worlds has been added, as well as the ability to download creations from the Spore website directly to the game.

According to the official Spore website, to get the patch, gamers simply need to launch Spore on their computers and it will appear as an available update. PC players will need to have EADM installed. Those who didn't install the EADM when they installed Spore can download it here. Available for both Mac and PC, Spore Patch 4 delivers the following tweaks and enhancements:

- Buildings have high-quality textures in the game like they do in the Editor, if display settings are on High. - Fixes occasional corrupted backgrounds on Sporepedia Cards. - Includes ongoing improvements in animation to be more responsive to weapons placed anywhere on a Creature's body. - Increases the number of "charges" of Space Tools Player can purchase in a single transaction. - Increases the range and damage for turrets defending against enemy spacecraft. - Enables players to reach all Grox worlds. - Fixes a bug with the Terraform Tutorial Mission not being complete-able for all planet T-Scores, by giving four basic tools to change score in any direction. - Improves general performance across the entire game. - Improves searching in Sporepedia. - Allows download of creations from website directly to game. - YouTube movies publish as private.

Spore Patch 4 follows in the footsteps of the third Spore patch announced by Electronic Arts and Maxis last year. Besides fixes and tweaks, the patch also included free exoskeleton limbs for players’ creatures, ranging from Arm Plated to Proprioceptive Flex. At the time (November 2008), EA and Maxis also announced the shipping of the Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack to retailers worldwide.
