Spore has been one of the most talked about titles of last year. But even though its publisher, Electronic Arts, would have liked for these talks to revolve around the quality of the game and how much fun it was, many were about the draconic DRM software, which protected it against piracy by imposing some very tight restrictions to those who bought it legally.

Needless to say, it generated some big scandals, but all of that is behind us, and EA has pledged to improve its measures and stop treating every gamer like a criminal. In order to further please Spore fans, who have generated a big number of creations, the company has just announced that a new patch will be available for the game.

With the promise of bringing a lot of new things and fixing random glitches that occurred throughout the game, this patch is a must for every player of this game. Spore will automatically announce you when you start it if you have EADM installed. For those of you who don't, you'd better check out this link and download it straight from Electronic Arts.

Here are some of the most important features of Spore Patch 4:

-Buildings have high-quality textures in the game like they do in the Editor, if display settings are on High. -Fixes occasional corrupted backgrounds on Sporepedia Cards. -Includes ongoing improvements in animation to be more responsive to weapons placed anywhere on a Creature's body. -Increases the number of "charges" of Space Tools Player can purchase in a single transaction. -Increases the range and damage for turrets defending against enemy spacecraft -Enables Player to reach all Grox worlds -Fixes a bug with the Terraform Tutorial Mission not being complete-able for all planet T-Scores by giving four basic tools to change score in any direction. -Improves general performance across the entire game -Improved searching in Sporepedia  -Allows download of creations from website directly to game -YouTube movies publish as private

Overall, a lot of interesting things were added to the game, so you'd better go back and check out how your own creations are progressing, from cell stage to managing to explore other galaxies.
