Season 5 of Showtime’s killer series “Dexter” debuted to excellent reviews and very good ratings – according to insiders, things are only about to get better in the upcoming episodes.
As fans must know, season 5 is very heavy in cameos, with several new characters coming and going in Dexter’s new life, one that he’s still trying to adjust to now that Rita, his wife, is gone.
While one of the most important new figures in Dexter’s life is undoubtedly Lumen (Julia Stiles), she won’t be the only one to clash with television’s most beloved blood spatter analyst slash serial killer slash vigilante (of sorts).
Peter Weller, whom fans may remember from the action classic “RoboCop,” is also making a cameo. According to
E! Online, more actors will make an appearance in the following episodes.
“Dexter is going guest star to the max! The inimitable Peter Weller returns as Quinn’s (Desmond Harrington) private
Doakes dick,” E! writes, citing very reliable sources on set of the television series.
“Joining him are Chris Vance (Mental, Burn Notice) as security chief for motivational speaker Jordan Chase (Eli Stone’s Jonny Lee Miller),” the same report reads.
“You knew Boyd’s creepy ‘Take it now!’ tapes would come back to haunt us, right?” E! points out. Boyd (Shawn Hatosy)
made an appearance a couple of episodes back, as another serial killer.
And that’s not all, E! goes on to say: the Lumen story will also see a lot of progress in the coming weeks.
“Next week Dex finally targets a fresh kill – but as usual, things don’t go smoothly,” E! says. Fans must have noted that, unlike in previous seasons, the fifth sees Dexter as rather “clumsy.”
“This botched attempt leads to a hilariously staged murder scene – but also a deeper, trusting relationship between Dexter and Lumen (Julia Stiles),” E! notes.
Ever since
confirmation of Stiles’ involvement in the show was made, producers stressed that her character would not come to replace “matriarch” Rita, since she’d be playing a “mysterious young woman who forms a unique relationship with Dexter.”
Clearly, things seem to be going in the right direction.
