Stealth video games have always captured the imagination of many players all around the world. Throw in the fact that you play as a spy while on a mission to save your home country, all during a story thought up by reputed writer Tom Clancy, and the title will definitely be a success.

That is the case with Ubisoft's famous Splinter Cell franchise. The third title in the series is Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, which appeared in 2005 on a variety of platforms including the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox, GameCube and the Nintendo DS. On the small, handheld platform, it appeared more specifically on June 28 in North America and, for all the other regions, on July 1, 2005.

The game sees famous spy Sam Fisher take on electronic warfare and the main perpetrators of this type of delinquency. He is part of a secret black-ops branch of the NSA, called the “Third Echelon.” Fisher is one of its most skilled agents, meaning that he must go on extremely dangerous missions all around the world once again, in order to make the globe a better place for its inhabitants.

“Our full support of the Nintendo DS is clearly visible by the number of titles coming out with the launch,” Yves Guillemot, chairman and CEO of Ubisoft, said, when announcing the arrival of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory alongside other titles on the DS. “We are proud to offer one of the most diverse line-ups of any major editor. Racing, platform, stealth, or action – there is truly something for all tastes.”

The Nintendo DS version features redesigned levels, which make it much more than just a port of the game that arrived on other platforms. The key storyline missions are basically the same, but some of the details vary in the DS version. Also, touch-screen controls are present, as well as a Wi-Fi Multiplayer mode.

HINTS

Kokubo Sosho level: Shadownet Agent outfit
Once you go down to the elevator shaft, Sam considers the Descent to Hell. There will be lasers at the bottom. Once you are down there, find a ladder to get back up. Once you climb it, you will end up in a small room with lasers. The costume is somewhere in the back corner.

Lighthouse level: Camouflage Sam outfit
Finish sniping the man on the roof, then, before you rappel off the platform, stay on it. In the high right corner, there is the costume.
