Ubisoft has confirmed that Splinter Cell: Blacklist, the next installment in the stealth series, will require a longer time to complete than Splinter Cell: Conviction, the last entry in the series.

Ubisoft's Toronto studio wants to bring the Splinter Cell franchise back to glory and, after the mixed received Conviction, the team is working hard on Blacklist, a back to basics entry in the series.

After sharing that the play style adopted by players in Blacklist will have an impact on the outcome of certain cut scenes, Ubisoft's Zack Cooper has mentioned that the game's length will be much longer than Conviction.

When talking with fans on the PS blog, Cooper mentioned that, depending on the play style, either full Ghost, full Assault, or the mixed Panther, players will certainly enjoy the single-player campaign, the cooperative experience, and the competitive Spies vs. Mercs mode.

No concrete number of hours was given, but Cooper said that Blacklist is longer than Conviction "by a lot."

Splinter Cell: Blacklist is out in August for PC, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U.
