Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop, the app that lets you access your computer on a local network for playing games and getting work done, has received a big update.

Available today for iPad users, Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop version 2.3.5.4 includes better support for Bluetooth keyboards, and is able to connect to your computer faster.

Performance has been “vastly improved” in China thanks to some new relay servers, and users now have one-step Wake-on-LAN.

Some usability improvements are included for configurable shortcuts and gamepads, and a virtual keyboard now pops up on-screen when the app senses you’re about to enter some text.

“Please also install the latest streamer from www.splashtop.com to enable these features,” says Splashtop Inc.

Compatible only with the Apple iPad, Splashtop 2 Remote Desktop requires iOS 5.0 or later. The app is on sale right now, by the way.
