A Spirit Airlines flight has experienced problems on Tuesday, when a fire erupted on a side of the plane. The blaze has been caught on camera.

The flames were spotted after passengers heard an explosion on Flight 165 from Dallas to Atlanta. 145 passengers were on board at the time.

One of the engines of the Airbus A319 blew up after take-off, Wink News explained. The blast took place in mid-air, 20 minutes into the flight.

Black smoke flooded the hallways and came through the vents, leaving travelers to panic and believe that they would crash.

One passenger describes texting his wife, and thinking that he was sending her a final message.

“I figured I would text her and let her know I love her and let the kids know I love them too,” Fred Edwards says.

The plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.
