They are ATX cases made of steel and featuring 2-year warranties

Spire has released many cases over the last few decades, but the ones it has launched most recently lack the embellishments that the cases most often covered by the media possess. Basically, Spire is playing things safe and simple for once.

We can't exactly say that Spire's namesake was all that often reflected in its products. A spire is a tapering conical or pyramidal structure on the top of a building, or sometimes a building itself.

Obviously, PC cases don't have that sort of shape, so the company name earned attention more through how curious it was than through how much its produce reflected the concept.

The latest addition to its product collection is, one might say, even less indicative of the company name.

The Ridge series of desktop computer cases is even less tall and sleek than the company's usual fare. Indeed, they are pretty stocky, all told.

Still, they will house computer hardware configurations just fine on the inside, held together by a micro-ATX or ATX motherboard.

The Ridge series cases are made of 0.5 mm SGCC steel and have a minimalistic design, lacking the side window that more famous and expensive enclosures sport.

There is a mesh vent there though, not that there is a fan over it. There are screw holes for one though, for a 120 mm spinner.

Speaking of fans, there are several areas inside the enclosure where spinners with diameters of 80 mm, 90/92 mm and 120 mm could be set.

The 120 mm ones can be placed on the front or on the side (intake), while the smaller ones are meant for the back (exhaust).

Then, there's the thumb-screw side-panel, installation screws back, warranty service bag that ships with the Spire Ridge, and the user installation manual.

All in all, the product offering is pretty standard for the market segment, although the charcoal black color that covers both the outside and inside is a nice surprise. Then again, this is SGCC steel, instead of aluminum or whatever else.

Spire should already be selling the Ridge case in two forms, one with a smooth, shiny front panel/door (Ridge 6601, part number SP6601B-CE/R-HD3) and one with a mesh front panel and the external, 5.25-inch bays perfectly visible (Ridge 6602, part number SP6602B-CE/R-HD3).

The price is of $32.95 / €24.95 and shipments will begin in China immediately, European stores will only get their stock in about 3 weeks though.
