Now, we all know the song about the itsy-bitsy spider which climbed up the water spout, and then came the rain and washed the spider out.

However, here is something you don't get to hear all that often: one itsy-bitsy spider climbed up a woman's ear canal, spent a total of five days making itself comfortable in its new home, and then came the saline solution and washed the spider out.

Joking aside, we can only imagine how both Ms. Lee (not her real name, obviously) and the doctors at China's Changsha Central Hospital must have felt when, earlier this week, they found that a four-legged hairy arachnid decided to take shelter inside the woman's canal, causing her inexplicable discomfort and pain.

Apparently, Ms. Lee presented to the hospital accusing severe itchiness, and it was only when the doctors looked inside her ear that the 'culprit' was found.

Sources report that the spider had to be washed out using saline solution, as simply trying to grab it and pull it out could have caused it to drill its barbs deeper, possibly causing the woman further pain.
