14 DAY TRIAL // Indian handset maker S Mobility has just announced the upcoming availability of a new mid-range Android smartphone, the Spice Stellar Pinnacle Mi-530.
According to AndroidOS, the device will be available beginning January 31 for only Rs 13,999 outright, which is about $260 or €195.
As expected, the handset comes with dual-SIM capability and is powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system out of the box.
However, S Mobility claims that the Mi-530 will receive a Jelly Bean upgrade in the future, though it does not offer a certain timeframe.
More importantly, the smartphone has been confirmed to arrive with some custom services and apps included by S Mobility.
For example, Spice Stellar Pinnacle Mi-530 is said to come preloaded with “Boot Acceleration,” which allows users to manage apps running in the background in order to make the phone boot up and perform much faster.
In addition, the device features “Flip to Mute,” which enables users to flip the phone face-down to mute the phone’s ringtone when they do not wish to take a call.
There’s also a “Pop-up play” option that provides users with the option to do something else on the phone while watching a video.
Last but not least, S Mobility’s mid-range smartphone comes with a special feature called “Intelligent Answer” that allows users to answer calls by bringing the phone close to their ears.
Hardware-wise, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
Spice Stellar Pinnacle Mi-530 also packs an enhanced 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
The phone is powered by a high-capacity 2550 mAh Li-Ion battery and boasts a large 5.3-inch IPS qHD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.
