Try to contain your enthusiasm! After the mind-blowing announcement that the five Spice Girls were getting back together (which, by the way, was not that surprising since a couple British tabloids had broken the story two weeks before the official announcement), it seems that things are only looking up for Geri, Emma, Mel C, Mel B and Victoria.
Ever since the five pop idols decided to kiss their joint music career bye-bye, there has been nothing but speculation about a possible reunion. Eventually, it happened a couple of weeks ago, when the girls (women?), together with their former manager Simon Fuller, got back together and announced that they would be hitting the road once more for ol' times' sake. And old it was, since it was also made public that no new material will be included among the tracks that the girls will perform on tour. Even more, they even straight-out stated that they will be, basically, lip-syncing, to avoid (they claimed) any screw-ups due to the tiresome dancing routines and the lack of sustained practice.
Anyway, despite all that, the world was happy that (finally!) they got back together for one last show... you know, for closure and stuff. Although, the very next day after the announcement was made, rumors already had started to circulate about the massive clash of egos that might not make this reunion work out after all, it is now clear that all the haters have been wrong. Not only are the girls going to go through with the tour, but they will even expand it to include a city of your choice! Yay again!
In a message just posted on their official webpage, the Spice Girls say that, thanks to the wonderful feedback they got from their fans, they decided to extend their tour to include other cities as well, and not just the eleven that were set from the start. 'We've had loads of messages from people all over the World asking why we weren't performing in their Country. It's impossible for us to perform everywhere but we thought why not let our fans decide where we play?', the message says.
So, if you're interested, you can just click and propose your city for Spice City. The cities with most votes will be the girls' next stop in their international tour that will kick in December this year. And, more good news: rumor has it that the reunited band is under pressure (again, from fans) to extend the number of tour dates from 11 to 50, but it is yet unsure if the demand will be met.
