Spice Mobile has just announced the immediate availability on the Indian market of another cheap Android smartphone, the Smart Flo Glam.

Even though its name might suggest something “glamorous,” Spice Smart Flo Glam is a low-end Android smartphone that can be had for only Rs 3,299 ($55 / €40) outright.

According to AndroidOS, the smartphone is now up for sale at major retailer Saholic, but other resellers might offer the Spice Smart Flo Glam as well.

As expected, Spice Smart Flo Glam ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and don’t get your hopes high for a KitKat upgrade. Spice’s low-end Smart Flo Glam certainly won’t receive any Android updates in the future, so keep that in mind before making your investment.

The smartphone doesn’t even come in more than two color options, Blue and Black. That could have been a selling point for the cheap Spice Smart Flo Glam, but it looks like the Indian OEM decided to go for only two color schemes.

Furthermore, the smartphone comes with very low hardware specs that aren’t really fit for an Android device released these days, even if it’s aimed at budget-friendly segment of the market.

In this regard, Spice Smart Flo Glam has been confirmed to come equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor, probably provided by MediaTek and only 256MB of RAM.

Due to the fact that the smartphone doesn’t pack at least 512MB of RAM lots of apps and games will not work on the Smart Flo Glam, but this is probably the last reason one would want to buy the device.

Another downside of the Smart Flo Glam is the amount of storage it comes with inside. According to Spice, the Smart Flo Glam features 512MB of internal memory, which means a microSD memory card is absolutely mandatory for those who decide to purchase it.

Luckily, Spice added a microSD card slot, so owners of the Smart Flo Glam can insert memory cards up to 32GB. It is also worth mentioning the smartphone features a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera for selfies.

The good news is Spice Smart Flo Glam offers dual-SIM capability with dual standby support. Other highlights of the smartphone include 3.5-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and EDGE connectivity.

No word on the battery that powers the smartphone yet, but we suspect any battery will offer a decent autonomy due to the phone’s low-end specs sheet.
