November is quickly moving on, and there's less than a month until the Spice Girls' reunion tour is set to kick off in Vancouver, Canada. It's somewhat natural, in this case, to see the girls come under more and more media attention in the past weeks, but the sad part is that - if we take a close look at what most of the "reunion" news is about - you'll find it's all less about their track listings and genuine information about the shows, and more about just how skinny the girls are and how hard they are dieting in view of the tour.
I wonder if someone really stipulated this in their tour contract - otherwise I can't seem to find a reasonable explanation for this "size zero" race between all the girls. And if one of them seems to think she's not as thin as the others, it's much more of a tragedy than if she suddenly lost her voice or something along those lines. Need proof that it's all about looking as a true anorexic chic? Check out today's news - especially the part that concerns Emma Bunton, who is reportedly desperate she can't lose weight after pregnancy.
Yes, well, it's totally sensible to start trying to slim down like crazy immediately after you had a baby. Really wise and healthy. The blonde singer gave birth to son Beau in August, but has since struggled
to shed the pounds she piled on while pregnant. The reason? Emma and her band mates are set to pose for a sexy lingerie shoot for Victoria's Secret, which is said to be released ahead of their comeback tour. Puts "selling your body for serious money" into a serious perspective, doesn't it?
"Like any new mother, Emma's just not feeling so confident about her body since having Beau. When they do the underwear shoot, each girl will have lingerie that has been themed to their Spice persona, but it seems likely that Emma's going to want to be a bit more covered up than her band mates", a source close to Emma states. But here comes the real problem. "It's not that Emma considers herself to be fat, it's just that the other Spice Girls are so tiny, and she can't help comparing herself to them". I only hope that in the end, the girls don't end up starving themselves to death or ruining their bodies and jeopardizing their tour, which would be a great disappointment for millions of fans worldwide.
