Victoria Beckham has been struck down with a chest infection, which could have disastrous effects over the Spice Girls reunion tour, set to kick off in under a month. Victoria is worried that because of the infection she will not be in a good enough shape to join the other girls for rehearsals in a few weeks time ahead of their performance at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show at Hollywood's Kodak Theater, which will air live on November 15th.

And while the actual tour kicks off on December 2nd in Vancouver, Canada, it is true that Victoria's illness comes at a very bad time for the all-girl band, which has sparked a huge interest worldwide when its original five members announced they would be coming together for a reunion tour. A source stated that "Victoria can't get rid of her infection. She has been fighting it for two months. She's worried she won't be fit while all the other girls are turning their bodies into machines".

Yes, well, that sounds exactly like Victoria, who has come under a lot of pressure lately from the media who repeatedly accused her of being nothing but a plastic-looking side-kick for her famous footballer husband David. The American magazine "Radar" proclaimed the Beckhams as "the world's most over-rated couple" and came hardest on Victoria, stating that she is in fact nothing more than a pointless collection of body parts. Victoria's obvious desire to come back with a vengeance and perform along her band mates Mel B, Emma Bunton, Mel C and Geri Halliwell could be flaunted by her condition, which has already forced her to miss a couple of rehearsals.

She stated that "all the others have done a few sessions but I haven't had a chance. We've all seen a lot of each other, though, and it's amazing how natural it all feels". Meanwhile, the reunited girl group have announced yet more dates for their comeback tour, adding two Manchester dates to the already packed touring schedule. "The Spice Girls will be playing Manchester. We will be at the MEN Arena on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 January 2008."

The Spice Girls will also play in Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, Cape Town and Hong Kong, and previously had to add an extra 16 London shows after tickets for the one initial concert on December 15 sold out in 38 seconds. It's easy to see why it would be a complete disaster both for Victoria personally and for all the Spice Girls if her illness persisted - so better keep your fingers crossed for Posh, go easy on her and wish her good health.
