Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag to Sue Virgin Mobile for Sparah Spoof Couple

Reality couple Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are thinking of taking action against Virgin Mobile over a series of ads showing a manufactured celebrity couple Sparah, aka Spencer and Sarah, that bears a striking resemblance to them.

Once known in the tabloids as Speidi, aka Spencer and Heidi, the two are thinking of taking the provider to court over the ads, which rip off their public persona, Spencer himself says in a statement to TMZ.

In other words, Spencer (Pratt, not the Virgin Mobile guy) would be happy if Virgin mocked them openly in the ads, as long as it paid for it.

“Spencer Pratt is furious at Virgin Mobile – telling TMZ, the cell company’s new celeb couple spoof ‘Sparah’ is blatantly copying Speidi... and now he wants Virgin to start paying up for using his likeness,” the e-zine reports.

In all fairness, the term Speidi never really caught on or, at least, it didn’t catch on to become as famous as Brangelina, as Spencer and Heidi were probably hoping.

Not that it matters for Pratt: he believes they’re being ripped off and he wants to be paid.

“They should being paying for using our likeness. It’s obvious they are trying to be us. It’s nuts how much [Virgin is] promoting them, when they are obviously copying us,” Pratt tells TMZ, adding that he and Heidi “hate” Sparah.

The ads, which you can also see embedded below, show the people at Virgin coming up to the conclusion that they’d need more celebrities for their unlimited web and data plan, which is when Speidi is born.

Manufactured by Virgin, the couple go through the paces to grab tabloid attention, including posh appearances on the red carpet and the “accidental” upskirt for Sarah.

Another ad shows how Sparah was actually made, with Spencer and Sarah being handed over the keys to their new house and new car, and being told exactly what to do and, most importantly, how to do it.
