Speedo has come out with a new line of one-piece bathing suits meant to put an end to one women’s problem that inevitably occurs before leaving on vacation and that consists of finding the perfect swimsuit. The Shapeline collection aims to place emphasis on celebrating what we have instead of lamenting what we don’t, and is meant to suit all body shapes, a press release from the company reveals.

Developed with the help with Laura Rattray, once a lingerie designer for Marks & Spencer, the line is based on actual research into how women’s bodies have changed ever since the first one-piece emerged in the ’50s. Consequently, women can be divided in three categories, hourglass, pear-shaped and top-heavy, therefore have different needs as regards to their bathing suit. It’s precisely these needs that the new line addresses.

“The figures of the three real women symbolize the main body shapes Speedo identified in their hi-tech body scanning research on 5,400 women: These shapes are: Bottom Hourglass (Joy Parkes), Hourglass (Tonia Brundell) and Top Hourglass (Susan Crighton). These shapes make up the body shapes of 95% of women, according to the ground-breaking research undertaken by Speedo for the Shapeline project,” the press release says.

After conducting the research, Speedo came up with three different swimsuits, where each helps make the most of a certain body type, thus every woman should find one that best suits her. For instance, the Bust Shaper gives definition and lift to the chest, the Waist Smoother enhances the waistline and has a very flattering neckline that makes the most of a natural hourglass figure, while the Tummy & Hip Sculptor has extra padding on the chest to balance the figure.

The three new models of the one-piece swimsuit come in sizes 10 to 20, and have inner bras in 32B to 38E cups. They cost a staggering £100 but, as per customers cited by the Daily Mail, they are well worth the money, finally putting an end to all those hours of uncertainty and insecurity.
