The woman Sean Kingston was with on the watercraft when he crashed into a bridge over the weekend is speaking out: Cassandra Sanchez, a longtime friend of the singer, says they were going “really fast,” implying that speed may have been a factor in the accident. As we
also reported the other day, Kingston was rushed to the hospital and his condition was listed as “critical” (it’s now “critical but stable”) after he crashed with his jet ski into bridge late on Sunday evening.
Reports in the media said a passerby noticed Sean and a woman’s body floating in the water, and jumped to save them. The singer
was puking blood, the “good Samaritan” said yesterday.
Police have determined that alcohol was not a factor in the accident but, according to Sanchez, speeding definitely was.
Speaking with
TMZ, Sanchez says she and Kingston set out for a ride with another couple on a different watercraft, but they sped off so quickly that the other two friends didn’t even hear the crash because they were too far back.
“Both jet skis pulled out of the dock at the same time and we were going so fast we just blasted past them. When we turned a corner and crashed... they were so far behind us they didn’t even see us crash,” Sanchez says.
When she realized they were heading for the bridge, she tried to get Sean to stop or turn around, fearing they would not fit under it.
“We can’t fit under there! Are we going to try and go under there? Sean, stop!” Sanchez says she yelled.
Next thing, they had hit the bridge and she was in the water, feeling a lot of pain.
“[Sean] was coughing up blood, foam and pink stuff,” Sanchez says. When he opened his eyes, he kept saying, “I’m hurting. I’m hurting.”
On the bright side, Sanchez says Kingston is now in a good condition, even though he has “a tube down his throat” and can’t talk – but he understands what’s happening.
According to her, doctors will be keeping the star for a few more weeks in hospital under observation.
