Also fixes bugs

Valve has released a new update for its multiplayer shooter Team Fortress 2, set to offer some small changes to gameplay while also preparing the game for an even bigger update, which should come soon, tweaking the way all the classes in the game behave.

Some of the direct consequences are that players can now permanently delete things from the inventory, including weapons that cannot be regained in the game in any way, as Valve has stated quite clearly, adding that “this does not reset achievements.”

Several issues related to connectivity have been fixed and now the Scout will drop his flag when he begins to phase. The cp_junction_final has also been modified in order to score on a per capture basis instead of per round, so that the map can be used in the Tournament mode.

But the big thing about the new Team Fortress 2 patch is that players have been looking through the files and found some pretty interesting stuff. Apparently, there are fresh slots in the load out menu that refer to “hats,” new items that each class will receive, probably offering bonuses or advantages in battle. Some are saying that the Heavy is set to get a football helmet, the Scout will get a batter helmet, while the Engineer should receive a miner helmet. There are also references made to a new grenade slot, which would be open to the Demoman and the Engineer.

And if that wasn't enough, some have begun speculating that Valve is getting ready to change the game in a more significant manner by adding levels and modifications to the weapons the classes carry. Team Fortress 2 could soon see players pick up better ones from dead enemies. Of course, we will only see what Valve has planned when it implements the next update.
