Rallen and Jeena's routine patrol mission is interrupted when they pick up a distress call. Upon arriving at the source of the message, they find an ancient escape pod and its passenger in cryogenic sleep. Waking him up, the two officers find out about a horrible threat to the universe – the Krawls are about to be unleashed.
In order to defeat them, Rallen and Jeena must retrieve the remains of an ancient race, the Spectrobes, and awaken it. Inside the game world, there are over 500 different such Spectrobes, which are excavated with the help of the stylus. To awaken the Spectrobes, players must take the creatures back to the ship and revive them using the DS's microphone. As time progresses, their creatures will become stronger, learning different abilities to combat the Krawls.
Krawls are represented on the map by vortexes and getting too close to one of them will initialize a battle sequence. Here, two Spectrobes will join Rallen in the fight, where buttons and shoulder-buttons are used to release real-time attacks. The WiFi connection allows players to fight each other or trade items. The game was published by Buena Vista Games, Inc. and developed by Jupiter Corp. It was released on March 8, 2007.
HINTS
Evolving Spectrobes
If you cannot wait the amount of time needed, put the Spectrobe in the incubator, save the game, then turn off the Nintendo DS. Turn it back on and, at DS system main menu, choose "Settings," then change the time forwards however long is needed. Resume the game, evolve the creature, and take it out of the incubator. You can then set the time back to the correct value if desired.
Max out whatever skill your Spectrobe had the highest in its child form. If they were all the same, max out the overall level. When it becomes an adult, max out the same skill and leave it in the incubator for a certain amount of time.
