Sceptre has just announced the availability of three new 32-inch HDTV models that feature an elegant and futuristic design which should find its place into any modern living room. The three units are part of the Galaxy series and sport Full HD resolutions.

To achieve this futuristic look, Sceptre took full advantage of the LED backlighting technology and managed to build a chassis that measures only 1-inch at its thinnest point and 1.82-inch at its thickest.

The three new SceptreHDTV share the same technical specifications and have a 31.5-inch active screen size, support 60Hz refresh rates, and their brightness is rated at 400 cd/m2.

The regular contrast ratio isn't mentioned by the company, but we do know that the dynamic contrast reaches 50,000:1.

As far as connectivity is concerned, Sceptre's recently announced HDTV feature three HDMI ports, a component and a composite video input, a VGA connector, a USB input (limited to music and photo playback) as well as headphone, S/PDIF and analog audio outputs.

Other features include, a beveled tempered glass stand with a swivel base, two 9 Watt speakers with an OSD 7-band equalizer and a 6.5ms response time.

“Sceptre is constantly exploring and inventing ways to blend functionality, affordability and style to satisfy the evolving consumer demands,” said Cathy Chou, vice president of Operations at Sceptre.

“We introduced different designs and styles to give the consumers an option to step away from the ordinary and now we are giving them the ability to take a step further into the designer realm.”

The new Sceptre Galaxy HDTV's are available in Nickel Brush with Black Accent, Black with Nickel Brush Accent and Pink with Nickel Brush Accent colorways, and can be purchased from several North American retailers for a rather low $499.99 US.
