Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is expected to announce at the International 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week its plans regarding the launch of Palm handsets running under the webOS platform, the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus. While there are still no official details on the two phones, a recently leaked document has unveiled the specifications they are set to make an appearance with on Big Red's airwaves.

The detailed specifications on Verizon's Pre Plus and Pixi Plus, which emerged into the wild via phone Arena, also show why they both got the 'Plus' part in their name: it seems that there are some enhancements they will include when compared to the models that are already available from Sprint, such as more internal memory space for the Palm Pre Plus: 16 GB, compared to the 8GB the original model sports.

Other than that, there is nothing that can be considered extraordinary, it seems. The Palm Pre Plus that will arrive on Verizon sports a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 480 pixel resolution and multi-touch support, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, a 3-megapixel photo snapper with LED Flash, Wi-Fi, EVDO Rev A and Bluetooth connectivity options, as well as video and music playback, and document viewer.

As for the Palm Pixi Plus, it is set to arrive at Verizon with a 2.63-inch capacitive touchscreen display that boasts a 320 x 480 pixel resolution and includes multi-touch support, with a QWERTY keyboard, a 2-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and EVDO Rev A connectivity options, multimedia capabilities, and an internal memory of 8GB. As many of you might know by now, none of the handsets comes with a microSD memory card slot, which means that there are little options for expanding the available storage space.

As stated above, nothing has been unveiled officially as of yet, but things are expected to start moving in this direction in no time. According to some of the latest rumors around the Internet, Verizon is expected to launch at least one of the two phones within a matter of weeks, and it has already ordered around 400,000 units to have them available at launch.
