Windows Phone 7, the new operating system from Redmond-based software giant Microsoft, is expected to be released into the wild as soon as next week, and more info on a phone powered by it has just emerged.

We're referring here to the HTC Mozart, one of the devices long rumored to land on shelves with Microsoft's new platform on board.

According to the available specs on this handset, those who plan on purchasing it would enjoy Windows Phone 7 on a 3.7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display that boasts a 800 x 480 pixels resolution.

At the same time, the device would deliver enhanced performance levels courtesy of its 1GHz application processor.

Other specs of this Windows Phone 7 device would include an 8-megapixel photo snapper with Xenon flash and 720p video recording, as well as 8GB of internal memory.

For what it worth, the amount of memory available for storing various files on this device might not seem enough to some people, but no handset running under Microsoft's new OS would come with microSD support, at least not the first generation of these devices.

The HTC Mozart should also come on the shelves with a 3.5-mm audio jack, as well as with surround sound, and with A-GPS on board.

The phone would also come with Bluetooth 2.1 and 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity options, along with the usual set of sensors for ambient light, gravity, compass, and proximity, not to mention a 1300mAh battery that gives power to this beauty.

In addition to these specs, some info on handset's arrival also emerged, including news on it being set to launch in late October on the UK market, Engadget notes.

No specific details on the phone's pricing surfaced, but one should expect it to be put on sale for free on monthly plans that start at £35 per month.

All in all, it appears that previous rumors on the upcoming availability of Windows Phone 7 devices in Europe in October are gaining more substance as the official launch of the new OS is getting nearer.
