Computer maker Dell was expected to announce an Android phone aimed at the Chinese market a few days ago, and, while that hasn't happened until now, it seems that the specifications list of the device have emerged, along with some photos. The handset reportedly bears the codename of Benzine, yet recent reports suggested that the name under which is should surface on the market is mini 3i.

The supposedly Dell Android-based mobile phone should come to the market with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display that can boast a 640 x 360 pixel resolution and support for 262K colors, also featuring handwriting recognition capabilities, and a 3-megapixel photo snapper that should feature auto focus, flash and 30fps video recording functionality.

At the same time, the device is expected to include a virtual QWERTY keyboard, a multi touch User Interface, quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE, as well as Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and USB 2.0 connectivity options. A built-in GPS receiver should also come in the package, with A-GPS, as well as a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

Reportedly, the Dell mini 3i measures 122 x 58 x 11.7 mm and weighs 103 grams. Other features of the mobile phone include Microsoft Exchange support and OTA capabilities, along with Google, AIM, Yahoo and MSN IM support. According to BGR, which unveiled the specs, it shouldn't be too long before it comes to the market in China, as it is “launch ready.”

For what it's worth, the handset doesn't seem to be a bad option, and should see a lot of traction on the market in case Dell releases it with an acceptable price tag. Unfortunately, exact details on pricing and availability of the new Android-based device lack at the moment, yet it shouldn't be too long before they become available. Stick around to learn more on it.
