Two new GreenHeart handsets from the company

Sony Ericsson announced today the launch of two new handsets that have been included in its GreenHeart lineup, namely the Sony Ericsson Elm and the Sony Ericsson Hazel. The two new mobile phones from the company come with green packaging, are meant to reduce the CO2 emissions, and are also aimed at educating consumers to make environmental friendly decisions.

According to the phone maker, the new handsets have been designed to “for life and more,” and their features list shows exactly that: - Quality voice – noise shield, clear voice and intelligent volume adaptation - Natural fit – human curvature and ergonomic keypad fits in the palm of a hand - Feel secure – back up your personal information over the air on Sonyericsson.com - Social networking the easy way – easily switch to Facebook, myspace and Twitter - 5.0 megapixel autofocus camera – snap friends and family and upload images to blogs and websites - Essential guide – Google search and Google Maps, Wisepilot, turn-by-turn navigation with AGPS and 10 days free weather forecast with Accuweather - Media player – get a rich media experience

The Sony Ericsson Elm and Hazel include a series of common specifications, including the presence of a 5-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities and LED flash, music player with PlayNow, SensMe and TrackID, NetFront Web browser, speakerphone, support for Email, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, SMS, MMS and IM, FM radio with RDS, easy access to YouTube, USB mass storage, Wi-Fi connectivity, or turn-by-turn navigation with Wisepilot.

However, each of the new handsets comes with specific features too. The Sony Ericsson Elm sports a 2.2-inch display that boasts a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and support for 262,144 colors, 280MB of internal memory, microSD memory card slot, a battery that can deliver up to 10 hours of talk time or up to 430 hours of standby time, as well as up to 3 hours of video talk time. The device measures 110 x 45 x 14 mm and weighs 90 grams, being expected to arrive on the market in Metal Black and Pearly Rose.

As for the Sony Ericsson Hazel, it sports a 2.6-inch display that boasts a 240 x 320 pixel resolution and support for 16,777,216 colors, has 280MB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space to be added to the equation, and a battery that can deliver up to 10 hours of talk time or up to 430 hours of standby time, and 3 hours of video talk. The handset measures 102.5 x 49.5 x 16 mm, weighs 120 grams, and should arrive dressed in Superior Black and Passionate Rouge.

Both devices are expected to arrive on the market in the first half of the next year, Sony Ericsson Elm in the first quarter, while Sony Ericsson Hazel should land in the second quarter.
