One of the smartphones that South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has been recently rumored to plan on bringing to the market is the Galaxy Mega 5.8, which has yet to be officially unveiled to the world.

Before that, however, info on the handset’s specs list had emerged online, confirming that it would indeed hit the market with a 5.8-inch touchscreen display, just as its name suggests.

The phone’s screen will be able to deliver a qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution, a recent article on SamMobile claims, adding that it will hide a 1.4GHz dual-core processor beneath.

Furthermore, the smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves with 1.5GB of RAM, and should prove a high-end DUOS smartphone, featuring the model number GT-I9152.

The hardware specifications list of Galaxy Mega 5.8 is also said to include an 8-megapixel rear photo snapper, most probably capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, as well as a 2MP front camera for making video calls.

Furthermore, the forthcoming smartphone will pack Wi-Fi 80211 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, A-GPS, and a 2600 mAh battery inside. The usual set of sensors will also be present on it.

Measuring 164 x 83.8 x 9.7 mm, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 is expected to feature Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (or even the newer Android 4.2.2) operating system right from the start, with Samsung’s own Nature UX loaded on top.

Galaxy Mega 5.8 is only one of the handsets that Samsung is expected to launch as part of its new Galaxy Mega lineup, which hasn’t been confirmed either.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when this might happen has been provided as of now, or on the price tag that Galaxy Mega 5.8 might sport when made available. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before the company unveils these details, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
