Piriform released a new build for Speccy, their system inventory tool. The fresh release contains new features and some bug fixes.

Speccy 1.18 can now detect the version of the .NET installed, includes Security Options under Operating System menu and adds Network Access to Sharing and Discovery.

Also new in this release is support for 30-minute time zones, and starting this version UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) and GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) are recognized as the same thing.

The improvements available touch on the calculation method for system uptime, detection of hard drive makers as well as analysis of Active Power Scheme.

As far as repairs go, the developer notes that the time of the last Windows update is now correctly interpreted. Also, the problem that could cause incorrect report of webcam manufacturer should be gone. Wi-Fi SSID reporting on Windows 7 is now fixed, too.

Download Speccy;  it is also available as a portable download.
