Yager Development is currently recruiting people for several key positions

Yager Development is apparently working on an upcoming free to play military shooter, according to several job listings.

The Berlin based studio is responsible for 2012’s troubling shooter Spec Ops: The Line, a title who sought to challenge its players with more than just proficient aiming. As such, the third person shooter tried to make its narrative the focus, and instead of delivering a fun, lighweight and entertaining gameplay experience, attempting to set itself apart with its provocative take on violence in video games and derisive use of various genre tropes.

The game however lacked a strong multiplayer mode, which is one of the basic tenets of a successful shooter, and thus failed to achieve financial success, prompting the team to state that a sequel to Spec Ops: The Line is highly unlikely.

Now the team seems to be attempting something different, as it is currently recruiting for six different positions, including a “senior multiplayer level designer” and “multiplayer programmer.”

Other listings show that the company is looking for a “talented and experienced FX artist for an exciting new AAA F2P project,” as well as artists with experience designing “amor and military gear,” as well as vehicles and various weapons.

Considering that Epic Games recently announced that Yager is the first European independent studio to have licensed Unreal Engine 4, as CVG reports, and that Spec Ops: The Line was developed on Unreal Engine 3, this could only mean that the studio is working on something new.
