Spec Ops: The Line, the newest third-person shooter from 2K Games, will receive its first bit of downloadable content in August, when the company releases a pack of four cooperative missions that will act as a prequel to the single-player campaign.

Spec Ops: The Line has just been launched in North America and is out in Europe on Friday, June 29.

While the game has a rich single-player campaign and a pretty decent multiplayer, 2K Games will release four cooperative missions as DLC next August.

The missions allow players to experience them with a friend and take place before the events in the single-player campaign.

According to 2K, gamers can experience new areas and new characters.

As of yet, no price or concrete release date has been confirmed for this cooperative downloadable add-on, so expect to hear more soon enough.
